I’m Trevor with the Sasquatch Movie Minute with a 2025er review, looking at DUST BUNNY, directed by Bryan Fuller, starring Mads Mikkelsen. A kid hires her hitman neighbor to kill the monster under her bed.

This movie was completely ignored last year, which is a shame because it is quite beautiful and fun. The movie does not exist in the real world, but in a lush heightened magical version of reality. Its AMELIE crossed with THE PROFESSIONAL. The set design is extraordinary; every shot bursting with a creative art piece or visual flair. The action was creative and thoughtful and the performances were exaggerated but not cartoon-y. The film walks a delicate line. Unfortunately, the film nearly derailed in the finale by showing WAY too much CGI and repeating plot points to a silly degree. But there is so much to love here.

Best Scene. The first apartment fight is fantastic; with Mads Mikkelsen hanging from the ceiling and fighting a piece of the wall. I also loved the dragon alley fight; all percussive beats timed to fireworks, shown through the innocent eyes of the child.

Best Performance. Sigourney Weaver is having SO much fun here! She is over-the-top, but not in a way that is too showy. She still finds grace notes in her portrayal. Mads is reliable here, though I’m not sure any performance of his has ever recaptured the heights he reached in ANOTHER ROUND.

Check his one out when you are in a whimsical, forgiving mood. You won’t be disappointed!
