I’m Trevor with the Sasquatch Movie Minute and we are doing a TV Take and looking at BEEF: Season 2. Class conflict spirals when a young couple witness their boss get into a physical fight with his wife.

Season 2 gets a 4.5 out of 5.

Another excellent season; both a complement to the themes of Season 1, while also sprawling in entirely unique directions. This is glorious fun; dark and sceevy, but also thrilling and uproariously funny. Every episode seems to end on a moment of absurdity so shocking and sharply edited, its hard not to immediately roll into the next episode. That playfulness, helps temper some of the darker motifs of people selfishly feigning connection. The season wraps up in a beautiful exploration of the Buddhist samsara, or wheel of life, with the haunting words, ‘Time leaves us no choice but to gladly accept this cycle of life,’ a lovely edict on aging.

Best Plotline. I loved anything to do with Carey Mulligan and Oscar Isaac and the silly awful demise of their marriage. They are so cowardly and vain, struggling to flame the small embers of decency they hope they have. There is an action sequence in the finale that is one of the most random, exhilarating, oh-shit moments I have seen on TV.

Best Performance. Mulligan and Isaac are extraordinary, so willing to show the pathetic nature of their characters. Watch Mulligan try to act with desperate elegance when a burger wrapper flies in her face. But then watch Cailee Spaeny doing manipulative guilt and Charles Melton doing charming buffoonery, such great acting!.

A wacky, dark humor, utterly unique show that is still wildly creative and entertaining in Season 2!
