Sasquatch Movie Minute - TRANSCRIPTS of video reviews
Outlander, S1-7 (TV)

I’m Trevor with the Sasquatch Movie Minute and its Wonky Wednesday so we are doing a TV Take and looking at OUTLANDER, in its 8th and final season, starring Catriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. A nurse from WW2 time travels to Scotland in the 1700s and falls in love with a brawny Highland warrior.
Look, this show is a big deal for me, I’ve been watching it for 12 years, so I am going to divide this into 2 parts. This is Part 1, a look at the broader show.
OUTLANDER is a sumptuous, passionate epic series. It luxuriates in the place and the characters. Each episode feels like a full meal. I came across this show early in my marriage, and I still think about scenes, quotes, and lessons I learned from this show about how to be a better man, a more giving partner, and more devoted father.
SPOILERS
Season 1 is still the towering achievement of the series, the pinnacle being the lovely wedding episode. I give it a 4.5, only because the finale is a brutal tone change. Season 2, 4outof5, France sucked, but you finished with the legendary Culloden. Season 3, 2outof5, worst one, Pirates of the Carribean and witch magic don’t work with Outlander. Season 4, 2.5outof5, crappy villain and dipshit Roger. Season 5, 3outof5, the miraculous redemption of Roger, wonderful Murtaugh, but a hard ‘hell no’ on what happened with Claire. Season 6, 3outof5, quieter deeper season, shortened with COVID, dark. Supersize Season 7, 3.5outof5, the freaking American Revolution & more Scotland, the modern stuff though was just silly.
Chatting about Season 8 in Part 2!
