T's TOP 25 Films of the Last 25 Years
Honorable Mentions (Part 2)

Trevor’s Top 25 Films of the Last 25 Years, MORE Honorable Mentions. Part 2.
ACK, how do professional movie reviewers make these kind of decisions, I needed to list more awesome movies:
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. The action stuntwork is the best of all-time and its also eye-watteringly beautiful. I wanted more thematic emotion. Doof Warrior forever!
LOOPER. My favorite kind of twisty time-bender, thought the face makeup on Joseph Gordon Levitt was unnecessary and distracting. a lovely perfect ending.
V FOR VENDETTA. A messy but awesome exploration of what terrorism is. A poetic swelling ending.
MOTHMAN PROPHECIES. A triumph of unsettling tone. Plot doesn’t really work, this is more of an art film of disturbing, unnerving aura.
GONE GIRL. A tragic and sad film, but still so entertaining. I love the impossible moral dilemma presented at the end and credit the film for having a solution.
SNOWPIERCER. A deeply weird action film, with an excellent Chris Evans. The fish scene. The egg scene. Alison Pill leaning into her insanity.
THANK YOU FOR SMOKING. So entertaining, but so depressing, how winning is more important than wrong or right. Excellent dialogue scenes.
MUNICH. Some of Spielberg’s best dialogue scenes. Very morally and politically messy but still his stunningly accomplished filmmaking. Bana doesn’t cut it as the lead.
THE TOWN. This movie fucking cooks. Its just all-time fun; Hamm and Renner and Postlethwaite chewing the scenery like they’ve never eaten before. Incredible shot of the cop turning away from the masked thieves.
THE PRESTIGE. Magicians being bitchy, then it turns so tragic. I love the reveal, Bale in particular is excellent. And a chilling final shot.
THE CONJURING. Such a perfect elegant horror film, with creative scares and true heart. I love that this can freak me out without gore.
WIND RIVER. A deeply felt movie about indigenous people and violence. Narrative weirdness doesn’t take away from some stunning brutal action scenes.
Ack, that’s it, need to stop listing films, I’ll kick off the top 25 next week!
